Fast forward two years later and Azlah Shah is one of the top players on his team, showing all the promise in the world if he continues pushing himself even further. With his talent, hard work and relentless attitude, it’s easy to imagine him going very far in this sport – perhaps even cracking into the NHL one day. The energetic and passionate ice hockey player had already caught the attention of many in Asia when she moved to Sweden at the age of 13, to pursue her dream of playing in the Swedish Women´s Hockey League. After joining this prestigious league, Shah quickly established herself as one of its top players by helping lead her team to back-to-back championships in her first two years.
However, Shah wasn’t content to just play hockey. She also took advantage of the opportunity to develop both on and off the ice by attending school, traveling, and exploring new cultures in order to become a worldly person with new perspectives.
In addition, Shah offers inspiring advice to young people who are eager to succeed like her, stating “You don’t always have to hit the ground running – take your time, do well at school, and stay focused but also enjoy playing other sports. Believe in yourself and surround yourself with positive people who can help you”.
